Dev Letter | New Path: Bamboocut - Draught

2026-09-07 LATEST

In every great Jianghu legend, swords and wine go hand in hand.

We raise a cup to welcome old friends, and share one last drink before we part. Wine fuels our triumphs and numbs our sorrows; after a few rounds, the emotions we usually keep bottled up naturally begin to pour out.

As the alcohol takes hold, a warrior's steps may falter, but their courage only grows. By pouring this drunken bravado into your fists and blades, a brand-new combat Path is born: Bamboocut - Draught, which seamlessly fuses the Gauntlets martial art, Skystrike Gauntlets, with the Dual Blades martial art, Riven Twinblades.

"Drunkenness" is the absolute core of this Path's combat. By drinking mid-fight, Wanderers build up Binge points to enter various states of Inebriate. As your drunkenness deepens, your moves and attacks evolve, transitioning into a devastating burst of power at high levels of inebriation.

This creates a thrilling combat rhythm: the more you fight, the more inebriated you become; the more inebriated you get, the fiercer you strike.

Part 1: Skystrike Gauntlets

Skystrike Gauntlets was born from a desperate, drunken battle at the brink of survival.

Hunted by a suspicious lord, the legendary late-Tang general Gao Siji was pushed to the absolute brink, with his warhorse spent and his spear shattered. With no way out, he drained his remaining wine and fought off his pursuers bare-handed, fueled entirely by drunken fury.

After breaking through the enemy ranks, he famously declared: "With enough good wine in my belly, not even an army of thousands can stop me." This legendary clash of desperation ultimately forged the foundation for this martial art.

In battle, Skystrike Gauntlets carries a constant aura of drunkenness. Upon entering Inebriate - Tipsy, you adopt a staggering, deceptive gait to close in on your opponent. One moment you look as if you might trip and fall; the next, you instantly close the distance, unleashing a rapid flurry of punches and kicks.

The special skill, Nightwick, takes these mind games to the next level. Wanderers can suddenly throw themselves to the ground to enter the Tipsylay state. From this position, you can react dynamically to your opponent's actions: either spring up instantly to break their defense, or stay low to unleash a barrage of ground-sweeping kicks.

As your drunkenness deepens into Inebriate - Deepdaze, your movements become completely uninhibited. The tricky feints hidden within your stumbling steps give way to a direct, explosive burst when the perfect moment strikes.

Part 2: Riven Twinblades

Much like the gauntlets, Riven Twinblades also traces its origins to a wine-soaked moment.

The martial prodigy, Lie Yan, once conceptualized a lightning-fast blade style while heavily inebriated. Later, during a drunken sparring match, he was inspired by his opponent's swift and fluid spear techniques. He integrated those sweeping variations into dual blades, creating a style that is both blisteringly fast and incredibly agile.

While Skystrike Gauntlets hides its intent behind stumbling steps and deceptive feints, Riven Twinblades presents a more direct and relentless assault.

Unleashing the charged heavy attack, Boundvessel, lets you channel your drunken frenzy into a relentless flurry of slashes. With every strike that connects, your attack speed and power scale up, driving a continuous, forward-pressing storm of blades that forces the enemy on the defensive.

The special skill, Hero's Blood, further showcases the sheer speed of the dual blades. You dash forward, slicing through enemy lines and leaving a trail of blade energy in your wake.

If triggered while in Inebriate - Deepdaze, you will unleash eight consecutive waves of crescent-shaped blade energy before finishing with a final, piercing dash that unleashes all your accumulated Binge points and drunkenness in one explosive burst.

Before one strike ends, the next has already landed. For Riven Twinblades, being drunk is not about deception; it is about riding that alcohol-fueled momentum to relentlessly press forward.

Part 3: Two Styles, One Brew: Bamboocut - Draught

Though both martial arts center on "drunkenness," each brings a distinct character to the fight:

Skystrike Gauntlets weaves drunkenness into footwork, baiting opponents with stumbling steps and sudden Tipsylay to transition into off-balance follow-ups.
Riven Twinblades channels that energy into the blade, maintaining a relentless offensive with rapid gap-closers and continuous combos. The heavier the drunkenness, the fiercer the blade.

At the same time, both martial arts seamlessly connect through this shared drunkenness.

Use the Dual Blades to close the gap and quickly build up your Binge points. Once close, swap to Gauntlets to continue brawling and drinking in close quarters, pushing your drunkenness deeper. At peak drunkenness, unleash the Gauntlets' accumulated power for a massive burst, then immediately swap back to Dual Blades to capitalize with a flurry of drunk-enhanced strikes.

As your drunkenness recedes, the Dual Blades can initiate once more, creating a continuous loop of building and releasing power. Together, they form the complete combat flow of Bamboocut - Draught.

In the Jianghu, a cup of wine is more than a drink; it is the soul of your martial art. From your first staggering step to your final lightning-fast slash, this drunkenness drives every single strike.

The brand-new Bamboocut - Draught Path is now live.

Grab a cup, Wanderers, and dive into a grand, drunken brawl!
