Dev AMA Recap (July 8)

2026-07-12 LATEST

In this DEV AMA, we have put together responses to some of the topics you have cared about most.
We would also like to take this moment to say thank you to every wanderer who walked this road with us!

Q: Which server will we play on during cross-region PvP teaming or matchmaking?

A: When playing in a cross-region PvP party, the matchmaking server follows the party leader’s selection. The party leader can manually choose which server to match on, and that selection also determines the server node used once the battle begins. It will not automatically change based on where party members are located or the regional makeup of the group.

Q: Recently, players in certain regions have reported higher latency than usual. Is this related to recent server updates or routing changes?

A: We hear you! We've noticed reports of increased latency from players in regions like South America, and we're actively investigating connection routes, routing performance, and server conditions. If we trace this back to recent updates or matchmaking strategies, we'll share updates right away. We're constantly monitoring latency across all regions and modes to ensure a stable environment.

Q: PvP is especially sensitive to latency. Will the team continue to improve latency in PvP?

A: Absolutely. Optimizing PvP latency is a top priority for us. In previous updates, we added more server options and improved both same-server and cross-server matchmaking so players can choose the best fit for their connection.  We'll continue monitoring your feedback regarding competitive fairness and latency in PvP to make further improvements.

Q: Some players feel like some Paths perform very differently across game modes, and some seem to have too much impact in PvP or GvG. How does the team view the role of different Paths and roll out the next round of balance adjustments for Paths and weapon combinations?

A: We believe every Path should have a unique role and purpose, while still offering a solid baseline for solo open-world exploration and story progression.
On July 9, we will launch the "Training Terrace - Preliminary." We invite all Wanderers to participate in this pre-season balance test and share your valuable feedback! We will evaluate how each Path actually performs in the Preliminary and combine that data with your suggestions to make targeted adjustments. The official balance patch is expected to go live with the next version update. Moving forward, you can expect major balance adjustments to be announced prior to the start of each new season.

Q: Many players want to build and share a Homestead with their partner or friends. Will they be able to live together in the future?

A: Yes! We're already working on it. Just give us a little more time!

Q: During Homestead construction, unused resources can pile up in the warehouse. Will there be a way to recycle these materials in the future so they can be reused more flexibly?

A: Yes! We're already planning to support resource recycling for the Homestead warehouse in a future update, though development will take a little time.

Q: Can you give us an update on performance optimization?

A: For PS5 and PS5 Pro, we'll continue dedicated optimization work, focusing on resource loading to reduce stuttering and crashes during exploration, as well as overall stability and performance.
For mobile, we'll keep tracking and optimizing performance across different devices, including overheating, frame drops, and menu stuttering.
For PC, the official launcher is planned to support a split-download model for core and optional expansion resources, letting Wanderers choose what to download. Other optimizations will continue as well.

Q: Will there be an option to hide other players' weapon effects?

A: Yes, we are working on it! We plan to add the option in a future update, so please stay tuned to our official announcements for more details.

Q: Are there any plans to improve the Inner Way progression?

A: We're working on a catch-up system to help with that, and it's currently in development. Stay tuned!

Q: Many of the players want better visibility on bug reports. Will there be a clearer way to track reported issues—what's been acknowledged, what's being worked on, and what's already been fixed?

A: We'll be bringing back the Patch Notes channel on Discord to share improvements, bug fixes, and other updates all in one place, making it easier to follow our progress.

Q: What happens to players who cheat, use scripts, or exploit unintended mechanics?

A: We take cheating, scripts, and exploits very seriously and have previously issued dedicated enforcement announcements and ongoing ban notices. We'll continue strengthening our detection systems and take strict action against confirmed violations. Any accounts verified to be breaking the rules will face severe penalties. If you spot suspicious behavior in a match, please report it through in-game Customer Service or the reporting system. We'll carefully review every submission.
