Version 2.3 Dev Letter | Dreaming Paths, Murders in the Snow

2026-10-28 LATEST

Unrest stirs in Qingzhou.

New clues have surfaced around a tragic case from a century ago, the corridors of the Inkbound Order seem to stretch on forever, and an abandoned study hall echoes with unsettling sounds after dark.

On October 29, alongside the opening of Penglai, we are bringing you three distinct experiences:

For detective enthusiasts: Investigate a snowy cold case and experience a classic closed-circle whodunit.
For fans of dreamcore vibes and spatial puzzles: Step into shifting dreamscapes and find your way out where the familiar turns strange.
For those seeking suspense: Enter the abandoned academy of the Inkbound Order, navigate eerie looping corridors, and search for hidden anomalies.

New Campaign [Mount Tai Blizzard]: Step Into a Snowy Night Mystery

Heavy snow cuts off all roads to the outside world. Trapped together in an isolated inn, strangers with tangled motives watch as murders begin to unfold. The killer walks among them, and everyone has a secret to hide.

Fans of classic detective fiction will instantly recognize this blizzard-bound setup. But this time, your investigation unearths a century-old Jianghu feud.

Rumor has it that a tragic massacre left no survivors on Mount Tai a hundred years ago, followed by a mysterious figure who returned from the underworld to seek vengeance on a stormy night. Today, an old letter and a haunting zither melody give this cold case a second chance at the light. But did things truly happen the way the tales claim?

You will enter the [Gong-Note Zither], a space that reconstructs the past, to inspect the crime scene firsthand. Here is a special design we would like to highlight: key moments from that fateful night are frozen in time. You can walk directly into the freeze-frame and examine the scene from any angle, checking who stood where, what they were doing, and what subtle clues went unnoticed. We designed this interactive narrative to pull you straight into the perilous, eerie atmosphere of that night.

During your investigation, you will also gather letters, keepsakes, and other scattered evidence across the inn. These clues will be logged in the [Case Room] and pieced together on your deduction board. If details fail to line up, you can return to the scene at any time to uncover missing links.

In the Campaign [Mount Tai Blizzard], we want you to truly immerse yourself in the deduction, piecing together the full truth through careful observation, evidence gathering, and cross-checking. If you have not uncovered every answer, you can conclude the case for now and revisit it later through Reverse.

Yet, the deep-seated grievances of the Jianghu will inevitably culminate in real combat. When this legendary foe finally emerges from the shadows, what truth will you discover?

New Jianghu Legacy [Cast in Currents]: Find Your Way Out of the Dreamscape

What is dreamcore? Picture this: an empty classroom, a corridor stretching into infinity, repeating bookshelves, stairs leading in strange directions, and water creeping over floorboards, reflecting vacant desks. Everything feels familiar, yet eerily unsettling.

This dreamcore atmosphere is precisely what we wanted to capture in the new Jianghu Legacy, [Cast in Currents].

The tale begins with a quiet dilemma facing Zheng Sheng, a scholar of the Inkbound Order. On the verge of departing the academy, he still waits for his mentor's final words of guidance. When you come looking for him, you find him slumped over his desk in deep slumber, impossible to wake. As you prepare to leave, you are drawn unexpectedly into a multi-layered, shifting dream.

In this dreamscape, your movement directly alters the flow of time. Step forward, and time advances around you. Step back, and time turns in reverse. Objects will shift positions as time moves forward and backward. By paying close attention to these spatial anomalies, you may discover newly opened paths.

To preserve the dreamlike sense of discovery, we have minimized standard quest guidance. Instead, subtle shifts in the environment, soundscape, and physical space reflect hidden memories and suppressed emotions. As you search for an exit through these morphing halls, you will gradually piece together a forgotten past shared between master and disciple.

New Light-Horror Exploration: [Spirit of the Grove]

A ghost story has begun circulating through the Inkbound Order: strange noises echo late into the night from a long-abandoned study hall. Rumor has it that once you step inside, the familiar corridors stretch on with no end in sight.

In the featured exploration [Spirit of the Grove], you will find yourself trapped in an eerie, endlessly looping hall. Using a bronze mirror to inspect your surroundings, you must spot hidden anomalies and figure out the correct way forward. Some abnormalities will catch your eye immediately, while others lurk quietly in areas you have already walked through.

What truly happened inside this forgotten building? You will have to step inside to find out.

Welcome to Penglai. A snowbound inn, a dream-spun academy, and an abandoned hall stirring in the dark... If you could only choose one, which door would you open first?
